As I earlier said, I'll post some essential terms related to blogging. I've made efforts to make this post really simple to understand, so that even those who are completely new to the blogging world can get a good idea about blogs.

 

Blogosphere - The collective community of all blogs is known as the blogosphere.

 

Bloghood - A collection of local blogs is sometimes referred to as a bloghood. eg., My blog is part of the Windows Live bloghood.

 

Technorati - Technorati is the most popular blog search engine.

 

Ad Sense - A free service from Google, through which the blog owner can earn for every click on the ads placed on his blog.

 

Blogroll - A blog owner can provide links to other blogs which he likes. This is called the Blogroll.

 

Trackback - If you provide a link in your blog that belongs to someone else's blog, then the link is called a Trackback.

 

Guestbook - A special section in most blogs where people can leave their comments on the blog.
